Summary

What happens. . . and doesn’t happen during a government shutdown? And what are the economic and political costs of one? FOX News Senior Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram looks back at previous shutdowns and the spending fights that caused them. Later, he looks back at the career and legacy of the late Senator Dianne Feinstein. Seven of the Republican candidates took the GOP debate stage at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California on Wednesday, attempting to stand out and hopefully give their campaigns a boost. However, it's still a question as to whether they were able to land a significant punch on former President Donald Trump, who was absent for the event and continues to be the overwhelming frontrunner in the Republican 2024 nomination race. Anchor of The Story on the FOX News Channel and Co-Moderator of the first 2023 GOP Debate Martha MacCallum gives her take on the evening, who she thinks could see a bounce in the polls.
