in ways that we have not seen previous presidents.

And calls for eliminating the filibuster

hit a brick wall in the Senate.

One of the most consequential cases in the history of the Supreme Court, at least according to President Trump, was argued this week.

For nearly three hours on Wednesday,

justices considered if the president's use of emergency tariffs imposed on products from around the world are lawful.

The vehicle is imposition of taxes on Americans, and that has always been the core power of Congress.

Chief Justice John Roberts was one of the justices who appeared skeptical of the administration's argument that President Trump is not using a taxing power,

but a foreign affairs power. Justice Amy Coney-Barritt questioned that interpretation.

Can you point to any other place in the code or any other time in history where that phrase together, regulate importation, has been used to confer tariff imposing authority?

Many court watchers left arguments believing the court will limit, at least in part, President Trump's tariff policy, that he told me on Thursday is needed to quickly respond to trade threats and even the outbreak of war.
