I'm Ryan Schmels, Congress looking to tackle the affordability crisis with a strongly bipartisan bill.

It's called the Streamline Housing Act, which just requires a HUD and USDA to get on the same page.

When you're getting permits and you are bottled up because HUD has one rule and

USDA has another rule, it slows the whole process down. And, you know, in this case,

when people are looking to buy a home or build a home, they want to be able to get it done

as quickly as possible. Time is money. It costs more as time goes by. So we're just asking

them as to get on the same page. And Republicans in the Senate are discussing new strategies

to tackle waste, fraud, and abuse. We have literally hundreds of billions of dollars going out.

That may be fraud, may not be fraud. We just don't know. And GAO looks at
