Saturday April Saturday, April 20, 2024, I'm Jessica Rosenthal. The House Republicans test vote for foreign aid bills for Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan have cleared a major hurdle thanks to Democrats.

I think that where we're going to really see it play out is going to be in the motion

to table, the motion to vacate, and it's going to be in this the motion to table the motion to vacate and it's going to be

done with absences or present votes rather than you know something more

dramatic but again that is a little ways down the line. Maybe not so far. I mean maybe a matter of hours

but I think the priorities here are getting the aid packages across.

Fears of a wider Mideast War were building up this week, but have they calmed as questions remain

about what exactly the U.S. strategy is in dealing with Iran.

A lot of things have been done that had never been done before and so things remain kind of volatile as people

kind of shake out what all that's going to mean for the future. Throughout the week as busy as things got on Capitol Hill Iran was still on the minds of many

the House proposed several bills and some

passed including one to redesignate the Iranian-backed hooty rebel group in
