We've been going through Romans,

steadfastly, wading through some of the more difficult parts

And we come now to Romans 12, which really is not difficult at all in terms of its theology,

but in terms of its purpose and its charge to individual believers may be the most difficult part of Romans

because it talks about what you should do.

After waiting through the theology in the first 11 chapters of Romans,

suddenly now the purpose of the letter shifts dramatically.

Chapters 1 through 8 of Romans are doctrinal, the doctrines of condemnation,

justification, sanctification, glorification. Chapters 9 through 11, dispensational,

Paul wrote those to make it clear why the Abrahamic and Davidic covenants have not yet been fulfilled.

Now as we get into Romans 12 through 16, the letter gets very personal.
