Hey it's Bo Mattingly, host of the Hog Pot and today's a difficult day as we have lost a legend

and perhaps the greatest razorback of all time in my view.

And I say the greatest because of how Dean Weber took care of so many people for so many years, more than 50 years of service at the University of Arkansas,

35 as the head athletic trainer and then recent years with the Razorback Foundation.

In that time, Dean built lifelong relationships, thousands and thousands, not just touch points, but relationships, which made him truly

special and loved by so many. He worked with numerous legendary coaches, like Frank Broyles, Eddie Sutton, Lou Holtz, Nolan Richardson, Ken Hatfield,

Norm DeBrien, Dave Van Horn, John McDonnell, Danny Ford, Houston Nut, and others.

And if you needed to get something done

and you were in the University of Arkansas

Athletic Department, Dean Weber was your guy.

He was far more than a trainer. If you were a razorback athlete, maybe a year or two or three or ten or 30 after you played and you needed something, you called Dean. Some of them just called Dean to talk on a daily basis. The

football training room is named after him. He's in the U.A. Sports Hall of

Honor, the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame, the Southwest Athletic

Trainers Association Hall of Fame, and was given the Tim Karen Award for

Excellence in Athletic Training by the National Athletic Trainers Association. But for all his career

accomplishments, Dean will be known for his love of people. And back in

2019 we had the opportunity to hear about his amazing journey and today as we keep his

sons Matt and Ben in our prayers we are going to go back and hear that as we remember a

true Arkansas King Pet in Dean Weber who has passed away at the age of 78.

There's probably nobody more important to the overall support of the whole program

Bowl than Dean because he's the only one I think that has access to all those team
