joined the podcast by two of the wisest commentators on the Washington scene, both from the Washington

host, E.J. Dion and Jen Rubin.

Too horrific to be here.

I want to look back at the year and there are a few things I would like to look back at,

but obviously the place we start is at the beginning of the year with January 6th.

And I'd just like to ask kind of an open-ended question.

Given the events of January 6th, how are we doing?

You know, how do we respond to those events, Jen?

On one hand, you can look at a whole lot of people in the Senate on the Select Committee,

which has been a pleasant surprise out in civil society, which are doing a lot of really good work

to bring attention to the threats to democracy and to get across that it was not simply

what happened on that day, but an entire coup plot that we were fortunate to

evade, but that could very well be address rehearsal for the future.

The bad news is that we haven't done yet much about it.
