It was an interesting day of Friday Chiefs media availability as safety tyron Matthew was not scheduled originally to speak to the media, but then that changed when Matthew decided to post an Instagram comment,

suggesting that the chiefs fan base was toxic. So on this podcast, you'll hear from tyron Matthew to start.

We'll continue with head coach Andy Reed and finish up with second year linebacker Willie Gage Jr. So again, here is the safety for the Kansas City Chiefs tyron Matthew.

Hey tyron. Um, obviously your your your your tweets yesterday made headlines and they had before. I'm just kind of wondering if you could take us through your thought process on some of the tweets you put out over the past week or so.

Well, obviously, you know, in regards to the comment that that sort of one viral, we're not sort of dead.

You know, obviously, there was a mistake on my part. Obviously, you know, you know, I haven't had the season. I wanted to have I think as a team, you know, we could say the same, you know, frustration tends to build up, obviously, people that really know me teammates.

People that I do in the community, even fans that, you know, I happen to come across in the gas station. I think all these people, I think they can see me being a genuine person. Obviously, you know, I should, I shouldn't have used those choices of words.

I think I'm man enough to admit that and really own that. And so just looking forward to, you know, obviously, you know, playing better, doing better.

And I think most importantly, not being a distraction, you know, to my team.

Good. It's a piece. We need to beat.

Hey, Tyron, I probably know how you're going to maybe answer this question, but just because considering everything that's happened, I think it's just worth asking. I know in the past, you said, you know, I want to be here long term has some of the trials and tribulations, maybe this year, changed your next off season outlook in that regard for you.

No, not at all.

That's a man. I've been through worse things in my life as a professional athlete. I've had, I've had harder moments than, you know, being 34, you know, with the aspiration of playing a Super Bowl. So I won't necessarily use that car.

You know, like I said earlier, you know, I think it's just more so, you know, just more, you know, frustration, you know, with with the moment.

You know, I think once again, I think people that really know me, people that communicate with me directly, like they know I'm all in on Kansas City, I'm all in with my teammates, I tried my best to be all in, you know, with the community.

So, you know, I don't think I can paint a clear picture of, you know, I want to be here.
