I'm Corey King from Side Project, and Malk Contour was the biggest waste of my time.

A king casts a long shadow, and the world of barrel-aged beers has been changed by one monarch who started in winemaking.

Through experimentation on a homebrew level, he learned through trial and error to embrace the love

of all things wild and farmhouse. Phil Wymore saw promise in this young lad and hired him as

head brewer at Perennial, despite having no commercial experience. But the head grew to fit the crown.

First, a Hummel Beer, a dry-hopped Belgian pale, and the staves began clicking together

on this old eight-and-a-half barrel system.

This was the first acreage he was granted to build something magnificent.

After two years of dipping his imperial robe in the mash tonne, in 2014, he decided he needed his own kingdom, his own caste subjects, and so he secured

a fiefdom of 8,000 square feet in the ducal realm of Maplewood, Missouri, to exercise

hegemony outside the confines of the area from which he built his seat of perennial power.

Now, looking out upon the expanse of derivations,

Tete's, BBTs, the empire firmly secured,

we sit down with the king himself

and subject him to royal inquiry.
