Summary

Three days after arriving in Galway in October of 2007, 17 year old Swiss girl Manuel Riedo was found dead on some marshy ground just outside the city. The investigation into her murder would reveal a series of crimes committed in Galway. Manuela Reado was born on November 5, 1989.

She was the only child of Hans Peter and Arles Reado, and lived in Hinter Kaplan, just outside

of Bern, Switzerland.

Manuela was an enthusiastic and busy young woman.

After finishing her primary schooling, she attended a commercial college in Freiburg, and

was also undertaking an apprenticeship in sales.

Manuela wanted to study languages to become a tour guide, and over the summer of 2007,

In advance of college exams, Manuela traveled with a group of 43 other students to Galway,

where they were enrolled for an intensive two-week English language course.

While in the city, the teens stayed with host families, and were joined by two of their

Manuela was one of two students staying with families in the Renoir area of Galway, a mature
