I'm Will Storen, I'm the author of We Believe You harmed Your Child, the war over shaken

baby convictions, which was a long read I wrote for the Guardian in December 2017.

I've been interested in the subject of shaken babies in drums for a while because it seemed to be

just a really fascinating story about evolving modern science that had huge moratoriumifications.

Everything I'd read about it and I'd seen documentaries, I'd read pieces in places

that are new scientists and the New York Times, I'd basically told one story.

That one story was that the parents who'd been convicted of harming their child by shaking

were innocent and it was just this huge monstrous injustice.

That's the story that I pitched to the Guardian and that's the story that I was expecting to write.

As it's so often in these cases, the truth ended up being a lot more complicated.

I left the experience still believing that a huge amount of injustice had been done,

not least to Craig Stilwell and Carla Andrews who were the parents who'd had this experience
