Welcome to episode 25 of unsweetened and unfiltered.

I do want to forewarn you guys.

This episode might be a little heavy, but again, the whole purpose of our podcast is to bring topics and stories like this up to the surface

and not hide them anymore and not have shame built around them either.

I think it's important to acknowledge that things like this do happen and we can't live in the

dark and live in a fantasy where like everything is perfect and no one ever gets hurt

emotionally or physically and it's important to just talk about them. So we didn't talk about

this in our last episode and I think because it was a fairly new story and I hate calling it a

story because this is actually somebody's life. And that is of course course, Isragraib, the Palestinian girl,

who, I mean, again, we're just quoting,

but the fact that she was murdered by her own family

for kind of, I guess, going against them,

taking a photo with her soon-to-be fiancé.

And it's, I just want people to understand that that does happen.

I like you said, we live in this fantasy land where we think, oh, no, this doesn't happen.

And again, like when it comes to Itthoff Room's book, people were like against it.

And everybody has their own reason for being against it.

But when she said that story, I related to it.

Not from my personal perspective.

I didn't have to go through that. But I know women that do go through this stuff where

they are attacked for just, you know, tasting a little bit of freedom.

And I don't even think it's about freedom.
