Hey, I'm Brian Hyatt, and this is Rolling Stone Music Now.

I recently talked with Tom Morello, who is a new photo book coming out called Whatever It Takes.

It's a retrospective of his entire life and career.

He's also got an audible release on his way called Tom Morello at the Manetta Lane

that does the same thing.

He also just released a protest song called St. at the Manetta Lane that does the same thing.

He also just released a protest song called Stand Up with Dan Reynolds and Shay Diamond.

So it seemed like a good time to have him look back.

He talks about his childhood in Illinois, his time and rage against the machine, an audio slave, and even that time he joined the East Street band.

He also inevitably addresses current events.

It does seem like more people than ever are raging against the machine on the streets of the

United States, and he certainly talks about that.

How are you holding up in general? How are you doing?

Hanging in there. The Morello household we have a nine year old a 96 year old an 89 year old my wife

myself and a two dogs so it's kind of like we're running a nursing home a daycare center and a kennel and varying degrees of success.

I wanted to start by you have a book coming out called Whatever It Takes.

It's a really great photo book that really brings your life to life and there's

also an audible release coming out tomorrow and Manette Elaine and that similarly lets you take a look back at your entire life and career and I really enjoyed listening to that.
