Summary

Today we’re joined by Cut Media founder, Stu Thompson. Stu might be better known for his video work with Danny MacAskill and around the sports world, with his production company Cut Media. However, Stu was a world cup downhill racer whose talent was spotted by none other than Steve Peat. Believe it or not, Stu was also responsible for the first ever World Cup livestream. We chat about his racing career and it’s unfortunate or fortunate end, depending on how you look at it. Hear how Stu met Danny MacAskill and how their work together evolved. We also discuss his other Cut Media projects, the creator landscape in MTB and plenty more. So, it’s time to sit back, hit play and listen to this episode with Stu Thompson.

You can also watch this episode on YouTube here.

You can find out more about Cut Media at their website here and on YouTube here.

I go home from being a uni one day and my mate was like, oh, there was a call from me from a guy called Steve Pete. And I was like, I just thought it was one of my friends like winding me up. In a way, I sort of look back at it as a blessing in a way because it made me do something else and it made me pick up a camera and, you know, I've ended up doing what I'm doing now. Imagine it's probably the one project to me I really struggled to kind of look back on because I'd never really liked it that much.
