First to Yorkshire and Jimmy Hendrix. Bear with me on this one.

Tomorrow September the 18th will be the 47th anniversary of the death of the guitarist

who's regarded by many as the greatest of all time.

Just before his death in London in 1970, Hendrix had headlined the Isle of White Festival

before an audience estimated at nearly 700,000.

That was considerably more than it Woodstock the previous year.

But as Andy Kershaw explains, that may not have been the most remarkable gig of Hendrix's all-too-short career.

The Sundaple Dare Room of the Trout Bet-Care in the genteel Yorkshiredale's

spa town of Oakley was on the day of my visit a picture of serenity.
