Annie, welcome to Lockton. We met a few weeks ago. You came in through a mutual friend and you wanted to start a podcast. And then you happen to have an interesting story too. So we invite you on the show. And now here we are. And you're a Connecticut local. I am. You live in the area. I'm a native. You're a native.

0:20.0

Born and raised. Yeah. It's. You're a native. Foreign raised.

0:21.1

Yeah.

0:26.0

It's so fascinating when, you know, that people have so many interesting stories in such like a close proximity of where we're filming the podcast.

0:29.6

You know, I believe that the universe is aligning and I feel like I'm walking in my purpose.

0:36.3

Finally, it's like a couple of trials and tribulations, but I'm here. And it's nice to meet you and thank you for having me. Yeah, of course. So did you grow up in Connecticut? I did. I was born and raised in Danbury. Really? Yes. Oh, like me. No, you too? Well, I was born in Manhattan, but we lived here our whole life. My family, I mean, my

in the lower east side of Manhattan, and one day these kids or these men came in with, like, mask and a gun and robbed one of my

1:16.3

uncles at gunpoint.

1:19.1

And then the next day, my other uncle went and bought a gun.

1:22.9

And my other uncle was like, fuck this.

1:24.7

I'm selling this.

1:25.5

I'm moving.

1:26.2

We're moving.

1:28.3

And everyone's like,

1:34.7

where are we moving to Connecticut? I always wondered how my life would be different if I was raised.

1:40.0

I would go to New York on like the summers, you know, to visit family and stuff like that. But if I was raised in New York, do you ever wonder that? Yeah, I mean, I was actually talking to someone last week about living in New York City,

1:46.3

and I think it just makes you tougher.

1:48.0

You got a different childhood experience.

1:49.9

Absolutely.

1:50.2

So it makes you more independent and a lot tougher, and you definitely miss out on the way you would grow up and say Danbury or in the suburbs.
