Jamie Reed is a queer woman politically to the left of Bernie Sanders, at least that's

what she says about herself.

She's married to a trans man with whom she is raising her two biological and three foster

children.

In November, she left her job as a case manager at the transgender center of the Washington

University St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Yesterday, Reed published her story of how she went from advocate to whistleblower in

an online publication called The Free Press.

Her piece was titled, quote, I thought I was saving trans kids.

Now I'm blowing the whistle.

Her account is so powerful and so important, I'm just going to let her speak for herself.

Quote, the center's working assumption was that the earlier you treat kids with gender

dysphoria, the more anguish you can prevent later on.

His premise was shared by the center's doctors and therapists.

Given their expertise, I assume that abundant evidence back this consensus.

During the four years, I worked at the clinic as a case manager around a thousand distress

young people came through our doors.

The majority of them received hormone prescriptions that can have life altering consequences, including

sterility.
