Welcome back to badass basic bitch. On today's podcast, we are interviewing Shana Sissell. And I am really excited to tell

your story and hear your story because to me, when I first heard it, it summed up the word grit

and determination. Shana, you grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts. We're going to hear how you found yourself starting pretty young

involved with gangs and then becoming one of the most influential women in finance. So thank you

so much for joining us today. Well, thank you. I don't think of myself that way. It's always weird

And, Shana, take us back to where it all started in Worcester. And by the way, ladies and gentlemen, it is apparently pronounced Worcester if you're not from New England. Fun fact. Didn't get that one right the first time.

Like you said, I grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts, which is about 30, 40 miles west of Boston,

kind of equal distance between Boston, Hartford, and Providence. It's the second largest city of New England, and a lot of people don't realize that. And it's a very blue-collar community.
