Now we have been working our way rather time. Here's Grace to you Bible teacher John MacArthur.

Now we have been working our way rather methodically and slowly through the book of Ephesians,

and so we'll go back there this morning. Would you turn in your Bible to Ephesians

chapter 5? We ended up last week at chapter 5, verse 7, and so we will pick up the text

at verse 8, and I want to read this section from Ephesians 5, 8 through 14, as the setting

for the message today.

Ephesians 5, starting at verse 8, for you were formerly darkness, but now you are light

in the Lord.

Walk as children of light, for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth, crying

to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.

Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them, for

it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done

by them in secret.

But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light.

For everything that becomes visible is light.

For this reason it says, awake sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine upon
