1:04.0 | I'm sure that a lot of you guys in here have always had that entrepreneurial spirit and felt like you were meant to build something or do something more. And I never knew what that was. |
1:12.0 | So I tried everything, everything that I can remember in 5th grade, Mo and Lans, 6th grade, jail breaking, iPhone, 7th grade, e-commerce. So I was doing pretty much everything I could to try and make a buck and I really enjoyed being an entrepreneur. |
1:24.0 | I went back to college. I was really under size. I went there to play college soccer and within the first year or so, I realized that I was really sick, like super, super sick. |
1:34.0 | I was about 115 pounds. I was like super under size and under weight and nobody could figure out what was wrong with me. |
1:40.0 | I go to a doctor one day at a Cedar Sinai here in Los Angeles with my mom and I remember this very vividly. They told me what they thought that I had a liver biopsy done. They're like, man, it's not looking good. |
1:51.0 | To make a long story short, I was told a 20 years old that I had a life threatening liver disease and my life expectancy was about 7 to 10 years. |
1:59.0 | This was probably the biggest impact on my life ever. I'm telling you guys this, not to have you guys feel bad for me, but it really changes the trajectory of where I'm at today. |
2:08.0 | When that kind of happened, I went down a dark path. I started drinking, smoking, doing a lot of drugs and stuff because I was just like, man, I don't even... |
2:15.0 | When I was a 20-year-old kid, when you think that your last down earth is going to be in the next 10 years, you have two options, right? |
2:21.0 | One is to leave a good impression on this world and go build something and the other is to go down the path of, let's take the shortcut and end it early. |
2:29.0 | I was going down that path until I pretty much ended up hospitalized and right around the same time somebody, a good friend of mine was like, hey, man, I see something in you, I want you to build something, you have this good energy about you, turn this motherfucker around. |
2:44.0 | I go do something that is worthwhile and that's what I did and so I decided I was like, I'm going to finish college, I was going to school for international business, I end up getting my master's degree. |
2:54.0 | Working every job I was selling, you up until March of 2020, I was selling used cars, I worked at Wood Ranch Barbecue and Grill if anybody has ever been there. |
3:01.0 | It's a good barbecue joint, howdy, howdy. |
3:03.0 | But yeah, so that's what I was doing and then COVID happens and I just recognized there was something that hit me. |
3:08.0 | I was like, man, this is an opportunity where the whole world is standing still. |
