So the title today is a little bit weird and none of us are going to get it right now,

but hopefully at the end you'll go, oh, I get the title and not only will it make sense,

but you'll like it at the end.

The title is from Colossal Bust to Royal Blue.

Now that's a dumbest title I've ever put on a message, but at the beginning, but I love

the title at the end.

So just hang in there a little bit today from a Colossal Bust to Royal Blue.

And today we're talking about God's power to turn our past into something beautiful in

our future.

Now you may be in the place today with something in your past, something that you did,

something that was done to you, circumstance, situation that came into your life in the

past, but the thing is it's not in the past, it's very much in the present.

And it still has a hold on you in this moment.

Not just to kind of hold like I remember it or I can see how God is redeeming it, but

it is absolutely a deficit in your life in the present moment as if it were right now,

even though it happened a year ago, four years ago, twenty years ago in the past.

And what God wants to say to every one of us in the room who's got that story and that's

not like a handful of us, that's all of us to some degree.

What God wants to say to us today is this that our past doesn't just simply define us.

Our past prepares us for what God has for us to do in life.

God is in the business of redeeming, broken past, painful past, rebellious past, and

using them for a greater purpose in our future story.
