And so this week I want to talk about that, some celebrities who think they've had encounters,

and also, exorcisms in the news.

That's one of those really scary things, then a little later.

We're going to bring the Halloween horrors a little closer to home, because I have curated

for you this week, a selection of strange stories, some personal ones, the kinds of things

that frighten us about who might be lurking next door, and then branching off from those

kinds of earthly horrors, perhaps things from a little further out, things from beyond.

Because every now and then you encounter as a professional anomalous, like yours truly,

you do encounter from time to time, things that just don't easily find any kind of classification,

things that defy all the kinds of conventions, all the kinds of norms, and we're left grasping,
