Summary

EP 582: Sloane Brown
Sloane is as solid of a human as I have met. Sloane’s journey from addicted to Heroin, to the top of the hunting industry is truly remarkable and is a testament to the man he has crafted himself into. A testament to his character.

You often hear that the outdoors can save addicts’ lives and that there is real power in the outdoors and the outdoors community. I think it’s safe to say that Sloane is a great example of this and how there is life after addiction. Sloane worked his way up to what some would call the top of the industry and somehow did that without stepping on anyone to get there.

My biggest takeaway from Sloane’s journey is that relationships matter in the long run. You never know who you will meet and how they will play a role in your journey, that is life.

I am excited and stoked for Sloane’s next chapter as he sets out to do his own thing and I have no doubt he will crush it at that. If you are interested in hiring Sloane check him out at

I can't even make this up. He starts walking. I draw back and he's down. He's right there.

0:28.8

Hi, Sloan. Welcome to the podcast, buddy. How you doing? Good, man. How are you? I'm good, man. I'm good.

0:34.9

You know, we were chit chatting before the podcast about shows and I didn't do any shows this year.

0:39.9

A little of that was like new baby and stuff. So I got to choose my battles. But for you,

0:44.8

is it a good show season? Did you like have fun getting out and seeing people?

0:48.7

Yeah, it was good to kind of get back in the saddle and you know, it's funny. You don't

0:53.5

typically see any of these people throughout the year. You just have phone conversations and digital

0:59.6

communications. So it always like right when you see them again, it picks up where it's left off

1:05.2

and instant friends and you don't really have to do all the catch up. But all in all, I would say

1:11.1

it seemed like attendance at all the shows that I was at was, you know, higher than

1:15.4

had been previously and people are spending money. It was a great show season for sure.

1:20.6

You know, it's funny, dude. I just talked to a buddy at an SCI show in Nashville and he's like

1:27.3

said the exact same thing. I was like, hey, how's the economy? Whatever. And I think a lot of people

1:32.0

use those shows. It's kind of a gauge to see what the economy's doing and what not. But he's

1:37.8

said the same thing. You just said it was that like, man, as soon as people are spending some money.

1:41.6

So I don't know what his recession is, but like people are spending money.

1:45.8

Yeah, for sure. I bet that show that specifically is going to be a big one. I was in Nashville

1:52.5

last week for NWTF. And that's definitely more of a turkey and water fell show. But gosh,

1:58.3

like Friday and Saturday, it was shoulder to shoulder through the aisles. Like as many people as

2:03.5

you could pack in there, it seemed like, yeah, kind of an interesting audience mix. But I think

2:09.9

that SCI will be a really, really big show for everyone of them.

2:14.6

Right. And I've been like, SCI is kind of the rich people anyway. So they're probably not
