I am Joseph Scrippshaw.

I'm Ken Knapsock here to go inside one of my favorite movies beat by at times

literal beat. There are a lot of big beats and a lot of small beats that's kind of

the point of a book like this.

If for some reason people are listening are not familiar with the book, this is a sequel to a similar

book, a similar format that was released for a new hope on its 40th anniversary.

This is to celebrate the Empire Strikes Back's 40th anniversary.

So it's 40 stories, short stories, differing length, but all short stories,

going generally chronologically through the movie

and diving deeper into specific beats,

creating new beats that were maybe around the corner or around the asteroid

from a known beat and in really trying to I think accomplish the goal of the title itself of different points of view, new points of view on a story we know really, really

well.

This episode we're discussing the first 20 stories and next week we'll discuss the second 20 stories.

So Ken, 20 stories in, what's your overall reaction to this book?

I'm glad we broke it up. It made the week of reading a little easier, but just to hear you say that it is it's daunting.
