We dropped a quarter million dollars, and it cash slowed $1,200 a month. If you want to make a million, expect to pay $100 grand. We don't use the D word. And when I say D, it's divorced. Every year that you don't know how to make a million dollars, it costs you a million dollars. Yeah. 98% of his network are on their third or fourth marriage and have barely really ships their kids. I put a million dollars in a Bitcoin in January of this year. And then proceeded to watch it drop another 30%. I don't think you actually fail if you learned. They interviewed like 3,000 people on their deathbed and asked them, what are their biggest regrets? And it was all regrets of things that they hadn't done. Jack McCaff. You. What's up, buddy?

So walk people through your journey from 16 months to today.

Yeah, this has been a full circle moment, just being here today and being here with you and Nat and just, yeah, doing a podcast man, because 16 months ago I was in this part of my life where I was doing really well from a job perspective, crushing it, working in pharmaceuticals, but there was just something missing. There was something where I was like, I'm kind of the big fish in my pond, and I want to be the little minnow. And I was talking to a buddy about this two days ago, about how he had actually sent me the Action Academy podcast, because I interviewed quite a few ones, you know, Rich Somers won, Cody Sanchez, but then I landed on Action Academy, and I just loved it because you weren't pigeonholed in one specific asset class. There was like six or seven different ones.

And I didn't know what I wanted to do. I remember talking to you. I was like, I'm thinking about multifamily. You're like, don't do that. I'm like, why? Okay. Because I had a little bit of multifamily. So you wanted cash flow. Exactly. I wanted cash flow. And I had some multifamily, but I also had short-term rentals and you're like, go to go boutique hotel investing. And I'm like, oh, that makes so much more

sense because I can actually go and visit these properties and create memories and bring my

family. and you're like, go to go boutique hotel investing. And I'm like, oh, that makes so much more sense because I can actually go and visit these properties and create memories and bring my family and friends there. And so, yeah, 16 months later, I'm doing a keynote in the Dominican Republic with with Action Academy folks. I'm here with you. It's just this surreal moment to where it's crazy what will happen when you chip away something every single day and look back talking about the gap compared to the gain like how far you've come rather than where the ideology where you think you should be. Yeah, international keynote speaker now. Let's go, baby. International man of mystery. Let's go. Talk a little bit about the gap and the gain. So for somebody that's listening to this that's unfamiliar with the topic, I'm familiar with the book, I'm familiar with Ben Hardy, who also spoke to us, was kind enough to speak to us twice. So shout out to Ben Hardy. What is the concept of the gap in the gain? So the gap in the gain is really just, we have an ideology about where we think we should be in life, right? Whether it's at a job, whether it's a certain point in business, whether it's your family. and we focus so much on essentially where we think we should be rather than how far we've come. So for example, in Action Academy, when I was in the group for six months, I was like, damn, I wish I was like, I wish already had a hotel. I wish I already had a business. But yet I wasn't focusing on the six months of how much I've actually grown through that time. And so I think people get caught up in where they think they should be compared to how far they've actually come. And when you focus on how far you've come, there's gratitude there and there's growth there. Yeah. Because the ideal, the other side that you're saying is a moving target. 100%. And so it's always going to increase. If you're doing things correctly, it's going to get higher and higher and further and further and faster and faster. Yeah. And so it's really hard to be grateful unless you're grounded. 100%. And so, man, it's really cool because you're one of my personal buddies here. And it's been fun watching you win. And it's just like cool seeing you as an operator seeing you as an

3:24.4

investor and then seeing you just like as a husband and a father you're somebody that I really

3:28.6

respect and and so it's fun for me to give you some shine and give you the spotlight and let you

3:33.6

just own it because somebody did that for me in the past and I was able to like step into it and

3:39.1

say wow I do have something to say yeah and you And you have a lot to say, man. Thank you. So let's start from the investment side. So let's start with Zach the investor first. And then we'll get into Zach the father, Zach the husband, Zach the friend at the end. And then we can talk about why this all matters in general. So let's speak specifically from the angle of Airbnb investing.

So I've been getting some flack online for saying,

4:04.2

hey, I don't think that Airbnbs are perhaps the best vehicle to invest in in today's market.

4:09.3

I'm saying that 80%, I believe, will either be stagnant, flat, or like basically converting to MTRs or LTRs.

4:17.9

Yep, which is happening. Or they're just going to be completely gone out of the market. But the top 20% that are

4:21.9

wonderful experiences that are very bespoke, curated like my buddy Michael Elefonte does. Like,

4:27.3

those will crush. Yeah. But the rest of the market, I just think, is going to be stagnant or declining.

4:33.0

And I see a lot of these investors looking for new asset classes or maybe they're unfamiliar or

4:38.4

unclear of what's even out there for them. So speak to somebody that's listening to this right now,
