Summary

Do you feel like maintaining good friendships is harder than ever in the season of young children? We have so much on our plates, it often feels impossible to steal away precious moments to reconnect with others. In this episode, Emily and Laura discuss their personal challenges when it comes to maintaining friendships. They also explore the importance of staying connected to other women in the season of motherhood, as well as strategies for gospel-minded friendship. God doesn't intend for us to do life alone, but with the rich gift of other women beside us. It's hard, but possible in every season with wisdom and intentionality!

you're sipping cold coffee or doing a sink full of dishes, we hope you'll find true,

Hello, hello. And before we get started talking about mom friendships today, just wanted to

0:50.0

let you guys know that we have an interview next week with Courtney Reisick. And she is actually

0:57.6

going to be speaking to a topic that we've wanted to dive into more on Risen Motherhood, just

1:04.1

discussing kind of what her mom life looks like after a journey through infertility and miscarriage

1:11.0

and loss and just the way that some of those things are still impacting her today. So, we hope

1:17.6

that you guys will tune in next week for that. Yeah, I think it's going to be great. And onto our show

1:25.2

this week about mom friendships, gosh, mom friends, it's sort of like an awesome topic and like a

1:31.5

terrifying topic. I know like, why are friends so hard in this stage of life? At least I feel like

1:37.9

they are. No, they totally are. I feel like my friendships have changed so much since when I was in

1:42.8

college or just working and single or married, but no kids. I feel like it's the children. Exactly,

1:50.8

because at least for me, I think in general, I don't know, I just think friendship is hard

1:56.1

anyways. And whenever I get extra time anymore, I find that the more kids I've had, like the more

2:03.3

introverted and like I want to hide in a quiet room, and like not talk to anyone. So it's really hard

2:08.8

for me to use that like, you know, quote unquote, extra time to be like, okay, now let's go out and

2:14.2

be with friends. And I know everybody's personality is different. But I sometimes have to force myself

2:19.8

to be like, no, this is going to be energizing for me. That's the thing is that we have to like
