I'm your host, Grace Valentine, and I have a special

guest on today. If you are an OG, I'm tired of water into wine podcast. That was my old podcast

name. I'm tired. And then I guess I woke up and wasn't tired anymore. But McKenzie's been on before

and she's one of my best friends. When I moved to Atlanta, she was one of the, like her and

Victoria were the only people I really knew going into Atlanta. And she was so kind and she's one of my best friends when I moved to Atlanta she was one of the like her and Victoria were the only people I really knew going into Atlanta and she was so kind introduced to me

to all her friends but we're going to be talking about friend breakups today and so say hi McKenzie

hi McKenzie hi hi Grace hi hi McKinsey and tell a little bit about yourself hmm okay, okay, a little bit about me. I'm from Florida. That's where I met. Grace, the icon. And then let's see, I've lived in Atlanta now for four years. I do wedding photography full time. I've been married for five years on Friday. I have two cats. I'm a big cat girl. And I just love to have a good time and be myself

and hang out with Grace. And she is a retired theater kid. So if there's any other theater girls out

there. She I didn't, you know, theater girls in high school don't really like me, but it's fun that

I would have liked you. Grace. I would have liked you. And she met her husband doing a high school play, right? Yeah, we met doing a little women. Yeah. I was Joe. He was bare. If you've seen the 2019 version, so good. Anyways. Yeah. What a romantic story. Yeah. Way better than high school musical, which is all the kids these days.

That's probably how they're meeting. A classic little woman. Honestly and good for them. I wish we could have done high school musical. Yeah, you would have been Sharpay Evans though. Sure, whatever. And so as you all know, my book, The Better Friends is out. And I hope that y'all have been enjoying it. I wrote this book on like one-sided and shallow friendships because I felt that there were so many books on being a good friend, finding good friends, and that was important. I talk about that in my book, but not many on when to walk away, when a friendship is one-sided, when it feels shallow, and even just idea of like, okay, we call to give grace but not excuses and even especially friend breakups i have a whole section in there that friend breaks friend breakups can be

hard but wholly at the same time and what's cool is when i moved to atlanta mackenzie was always

one of the nicest most outgoing open people she had so many friends and so many different groups

in pockets and she had one friend group that i also hung out with. And I saw McKenzie handle a really

hard situation really well. It wasn't always easy. But she knew a lot about friend breakups

in that time. And so obviously I'm not asking you to tell me all the details of that story,

even though if they could hear all the details of the story. Ooh. It would be a juicy one.

It would belong on a Netflix show.

But I'm sure everyone feels that way about their like friend group drama.

But this was wild to the point where y'all wouldn't even believe us.
