Hey friends, welcome back.

It is time for our Friday Pray Together episode.

This is July 1st.

Can you believe it?

More than halfway through the year.

And I hope you're doing well.

Today, as we come to prayer, I want to remind us of Romans chapter 8 verse number 26.

This is one of those passages, I think, that sometimes has been abused in the way it's been applied, but it's a very powerful passage nonetheless. It says, likewise, the spirit, so it's

talking about the spirit of God, helps us in our weakness. For, we do not know what to pray for

as we ought, but the spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for

words. So friends, this promise is an amazingly comforting and reassuring thing when it comes to prayer.

Because we've all had that experience where we start praying and we just can't get out the right words.

We just don't know how to express the depth of what is on our hearts regarding the concern that is before us.

And we can be assured, according to Romans chapter 8, verse 26, that if we are believers in Jesus Christ,

the Holy Spirit who lives in us is going to intercede

for us in those times. And he's going to take those requests to the Father. And how effective

do you think the Holy Spirit is interceding for us? I mean, he is the third person of the Trinity.

He is going to be

incredibly effective. So let's take heart today as we lift up these prayer requests on behalf

of brothers and sisters in Christ. Because even though we may not know all the circumstances

and we may not know with clarity exactly what it is the Lord wants to do, we can be assured that we are in a place

where God's spirit will intercede for us and our prayers will be effective.
