Two Russian citizens who arrived on an Alaskan island in a small boat are now in federal custody.

When the men arrived at St. Lawrence Island, they told villagers they were fleeing Russia

because of the forced military service and had sailed 300 miles in the Bering Sea.

St. Lawrence is only about 40 miles from Russia's mainland, but there's no info on where these men left from.

The Coast Guard sent a cargo plane to retrieve the men. Their names have not been released for their safety and that of their family

who may still remain in Russia. I don't think many people expected President Biden to make

good on two of his loftiest campaign promises, but here we are. The first one was eliminating up to

$10,000 of student loan debt, which, regardless of how you feel about the decision,

was a promise fulfilled by the president.

The other promise he made as he campaigned for votes was pardoning federal marijuana

convictions, which he announced yesterday.

Now, it's important to remember a few points when it comes to yesterday's announcement.

The first is this announcement only pertains to

simple marijuana charges, which are usually defined as small amounts of the drug intended for

individual use, not distribution. So this isn't setting a ton of drug dealers free. The second point

is that after the announcement, a White House official told reporters there are actually no individuals

in federal prison for simple marijuana possession. So you might be asking yourself,
