All right. Jumping in with the top stories. There's a lot to get through today. So here we go.

One of the big ones out of Ukraine to break yesterday was regarding the sinking of that Russian warship back on April 14th.

It was being reported all over the place yesterday that US intel helped Ukraine identify the ship and ultimately sink it,

which is a big blow to Putin. Well, it's just coming out this morning that the US is officially denying that a Pentagon spokesperson said

we did not provide targeting information. We were not involved in their decision to strike the ship and we had no prior knowledge of their intent to do it.

And again, while the attacks on that steel plant continued yesterday, President Zelensky said that there were some successful rescue operations for Mary Opal.

That's thanks to the UN and the Red Cross and there is another round of rescue plan for today.

And not to just throw too much depressing stuff at y'all at once, but this was another big one that came out yesterday.

The World Health Organization just nearly tripled its estimate of the pandemic's death toll.

They are now saying that the pandemic is responsible for close to 15 million deaths around the world in 2020 and 2021.

According to them in that two-year period, 14.9 million people died as a direct or indirect result of COVID-19.

They compare the number of deaths with the normal number in that period of time.

Okay, okay. I'm just sports. There are a lot of things happening in the sports world this weekend.

The NBA playoffs, the NHL playoffs, both continuing. The WNBA season gets started today.

But let's not forget about the Kentucky Derby. It's tomorrow. I know nothing about horse racing, but looking at the names of all 20 horses competing, I am going to pick my favorite.

Let's see if I can win it. Lots of interesting names I'm going to go with.
