What a night the garden was rocking last night.

Okay, but we're going to begin with the severe weather, or severe storms that are taking aim at the East Coast this morning after the South was slammed with dangerous weather, including a fast-moving tornado. Ginger is tracking it all for us. Good morning, Ginger. Hey, good morning. So the tornado that did the damage behind me was just south of Atlanta, but it was one of eight reported tornadoes from New Mexico and Texas over to Florida.

This one, a stark and brazen reminder. They were only in the level one out of five for severe

storms about how quickly even a thunderstorm can change your life.

Severe storms sweeping across the southeast. Is that a tornado? Yep. In Georgia, this tornado stopping a couple in their tracks as it crossed I-75 south of Atlanta. We're finding debris all over the place. People in this Henry County neighborhood describing how quickly the tornado tore through. It almost sounded like thunder and lightning, but it had more of an impact, shaking walls. I ran for the closet and took cover.

I got all my hands and knees, covered my head and just started praying.

This is all that's left of actor Trey Cheney from the Wires home.

He and his 18-year-old son, Malachi, were sucked out of their house without warning.

I survived the tornado.
