The Core 4. The Four Headlines You Need to Know. This definitely is not great news to be kicking

off a Friday, but according to a new report, last month was the worst month for layoffs since the

middle of the pandemic. And I want you to think about that.

February is obviously a shorter month, which makes the statistic even worse. And on top of that,

it was the worst February for layoffs since 2009, which was during the whole financial crisis,

great recession disaster. Now, part of that is Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and Doge firing

thousands of government employees, but the layoffs have hit basically every industry, with retail

and tech taking the top spots after government employees. According to the report from

Challenger, Gary, and Christmas, there were 172,000 layoffs last month, which is 245%

more than January.
