Overnight on a voice vote, the Senate passing a bill that would fund most of the Department of Homeland Security, but not ICE and not Border Patrol.

The DHS funding fight that caused TSA officers to go more than 40 days without pay was

over reforms being demanded by Democrats in the way immigration raids are

carried out. However, says ABC senior political correspondent Rachel Scott. The bill

ultimately passing without the reforms Democrats spent

weeks demanding, including requiring ICE agents to wear body cameras and banning face masks.

The Senate bill would fund TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard, as well as the cybersecurity and

infrastructure security agency. As the partial government shutdown went on and talks repeatedly

failed, there was pressure to address the ongoing chaos in America's airports.
