The biggest story that requires explanation today is that there's currently a large

container ship lodged crossways into the Suez Canal after Rhine Ground earlier this

week.

Why am I reporting on what sounds like an unfortunate boating accident?

That's because the Suez Canal is one of the world's busiest shipping waterways, which

is now forced to suspend traffic while they try to dislodge the 1,300-foot ship, which

is one of the largest container vessels currently in operation.

It's possible that it could take weeks to move the ship while it disrupts global supply

chains, just what we needed on the heels of a pandemic.

The rest of today's episode is going to be a series of short stories with a number

of headlines that speak for themselves.

The Colorado Gunman, aka John Dick, if you know you know, made his first court appearance

yesterday, where a judge ruled that he will be held without bail.

AstraZeneca issued another update on Wednesday that its vaccine is 76% effective at preventing

COVID, which is slightly lower than the 79% effective history that they claimed last week.

Seems like it really wasn't worth the PR nightmare for three extra points, Aze.

Yesterday Biden held his long awaited first press conference of his administration, where

he announced that his administration now has a new vaccination goal of 200 million doses

in the first 100 days.
