Good morning, everybody. I've got a few things I'd like to say. First of all, I would like to walk

you through exactly what the American Health Care Act is and how important it is to repeal and

replace Obamacare, not just because the law is collapsing, but because the law is going to get

even worse if we do nothing. With his shirt sleeves rolled up and a remote control on his hand,

let me show you what our problem is and what we're trying to do.

The speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, walked Americans through a PowerPoint presentation on Thursday

morning. So we have a three-pronged approach, a three-pronged approach to repealing and replacing

Obamacare. Ryan laid out Republican criticism of the Affordable Care Act. Take a look at what's going

on around the country. This just shows you a map of the premium increases just this year alone.

Minnesota, 59% increase in their health insurance premiums. Pennsylvania, 53% increase in their

health insurance premiums. And how their new plan would fix it with tax incentives, health

savings accounts, and more choices. These are long-standing conservative principles that those of us

who've been working in health care for about 20 years have been fighting for dreaming about

working toward. Now we have an opportunity to do that. Later in the day, the Republican plan

passed the second of two House committees. That now brings it before a full vote in the House.

At the same time, opposition to the bill is growing. Liberals are against it because they like Obamacare.
