0:47.3	Manhattan's top federal prosecutor has resigned just days after the Justice Department directed her office to drop the corruption charges against Mayor Adams.

1:03.5	Well, Christine, in addition to the top federal prosecutor for the Southern District of New York,
1:08.2	CBS News is learning the acting head of the DOJ's criminal division
1:12.1	and the acting chief of public integrity division have also resigned after refusing orders
1:17.8	to drop the corruption case against Mayor Adams.
1:21.3	Interim U.S. attorney for the Southern District, Danielle Sassoon inherited this case
1:25.4	against Adams after her predecessor, Damien Williams, resigned following Trump's election victory.
1:31.1	In her resignation letter obtained and reviewed by CBS News,
1:34.9	Sassoon pushed back against the directive to drop the case,
1:38.1	alleging that during a meeting with the DOJ last month, Adams' attorneys urged what amounted to quid pro quo,
1:45.6	allegedly offering his cooperation with the Trump administration's immigration enforcement in exchange for dismissal
1:50.6	of the charges.
1:51.9	In a second letter to Sassoon, the Deputy Attorney General, Emil Bov, accepted her resignation
