Thursday started out with a Supreme Court deciding that actually we should have less regulation on firearms,

and somehow ended with the Senate passing the most comprehensive gun legislation in decades.

What a journey!

The Supreme Court ruling by the conservative majority struck down a 100-year-old New York law

and opened the door for almost anyone to be able to carry a concealed and loaded gun.

On the flip side, all Senate Democrats plus 15 Republicans voted Thursday night to pass the Safer Communities Act,

which offers some modest gun safety measures, like tightened background checks for gun purchasers convicted of domestic violence,

but no assault weapons ban and no universal background checks.

Next, it goes to the House for a vote, where Lauren Bober and her friends will surely lose their actual minds.

In somewhat related news, the government managed to ban jewel e-cigarettes before banning AR-15s, because you know, priorities.

This comes after an intense review by the FDA, since teens were drooling up a storm, and there were concerns about long-term health effects.

Poor went out for the teens who made cotton candy smoke their entire personality.

The January 6th Committee marked their fourth day of hearings with a sobering chap with some former Trump Department of Justice guides.

Much like a kid he just returned from studying abroad in Florence, we learned Trump could not stop talking about Italy in late December.

Specifically, he was pushing the idea that Italian satellites were switching votes from Trump to Biden,

and a member of his staff even reached out to an Italian official to ask what the hell was going on.

It turns out, of course, there was no merit to the claim, but Trump reportedly said,

you guys may not be following the internet the way I do.
