The Core 4. The four headlines you need to know. Let's kick off your Friday morning with some good news from the gas pump.

Wednesday's drop of 2.8 cents per gallon was the second largest single day drop in the last

decade. According to AAA, the nationwide average per gallon is $4.75, which is 16 cents cheaper than it was a month ago. An analyst for the company

Gas Buddy said he expects most gas stations will see drops of one or two cents per gallon every

couple of days for the next two or three weeks. He believes the national average could drop to around $4.25 per gallon by mid-August.

And as of yesterday morning, there were over 2,500 gas stations charging less than $4 per gallon.

Yesterday morning, I told you about how the wife of imprisoned WNBA star Britney Greiner had a call with President Biden and Vice President Harris.

By mid-afternoon yesterday, we got the news that Greiner pled guilty to drug possession and smuggling charges in a Russian court.

She pled guilty, but denied that she intentionally broke the law and can now face up to 10 years

in prison for the offense. Prior to her guilty plea, Russian officials said they did not plan on

negotiating with America for a prisoner exchange until the trial was over. And since the trial could

have taken up to four months just to be found guilty down the road,

some people believe Griner and her team decided it would be best to plead guilty in order to end the trial sooner in an effort to begin the negotiation process as soon as possible.
