0:26.2	Well, they are currently also a matter of intense controversy in the United States,
0:31.5	and this is not one of those issues that defines the future of civilization in and of itself.
0:37.4	It is, however, a very interesting little window into how culture works, and in our incredibly
0:43.8	intensely politicized age, how this works at warp speed, and it also reveals that you
0:49.6	have two Americas, and they're both looking at the same spokescandies, but they're no longer
0:54.4	seeing the same thing.
0:56.1	Now the most intense part of the controversy right now is, at least according to the mainstream
1:00.6	media, between Fox News, host Tucker Carlson, and the company Mars Riggly.
1:06.7	And you have the mainstream media narrative that what happened is that Tucker Carlson decided
1:11.0	to politicize the spokescandies for M&Ms and changes made by the advertising team behind
1:17.4	the spokescandies, making it the new front in the culture war.
1:21.6	So now you have headlines such as this, how M&Ms found itself in the culture wars.
1:26.8	You also have an opinion piece of the Washington Post headline, the articles by Molly Roberts,
1:30.6	headlines this, M&Ms accept Tucker Carlson's invite to the culture war.
1:34.7	So this is all just about the culture wars.
1:37.2	And in this case, it's basically artificial.
