Hello and welcome to the Friday 5 on this very special day of the year.

If you're listening to me in real time, on December 31st, New Year's Eve, 2021, and

what a year, what an end of the year, gosh, so many highs and lows this year, too many

lows of course, far too many lows, but hopefully a few glimmers of hope for the new year ahead,

and that really is the focus for today's podcast to emphasise a few of the positives that

have happened these last 12 months.

Now readers of My Lizard Wellbeing magazine will have read about one such initiative in our

regular helping hands feature, and this is an article that we write in each and every

issue to put a well-deserving charity or cause under the spotlight to help shine a light on

those who work so hard to change the narratives surrounding many social justice issues for

example, and the organisation that we chose to highlight in our current issue is called

Under One Sky, an incredible network of brilliant individuals who got together during

lockdown to provide around 100,000 meals and a moment of human connection to those living

rough, sleeping on the streets or with no place to call home.

Well, I'll be chatting here in a moment to its founder, Michele Joel Iverson, as well

as to an old friend of mine, the brilliantly witty and talented writer, Beatrice Aiden,

who I have had the great pleasure of knowing for very many years now, and I'm really looking

forward to hearing about some of their life-affirming moments and sharing their special journey

with you all here.
