0:11.2	You've made it to Friday, and Biden has one more cabinet secretary.
0:14.6	Yesterday, the Senate voted to confirm former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm as Secretary
0:19.0	of Energy, with a 64-35 vote.
0:21.8	But that wasn't the only exciting vote we have to talk about today.
0:24.6	Yesterday, the House voted to pass the Equality Act, which extends protection from discrimination
0:28.8	in employment, housing, education and healthcare, to people on the basis of their gender or
0:33.4	sexual orientation.
0:35.0	In other words, basic rights against discrimination on a federal level for the LGBTQIA community.
0:40.2	While the bill did pass, only for your Republicans voted guess, and not a single Republican woman
0:44.4	voted for it.
0:45.4	Which tells us a lot about where the party stands on basic LGBTQ rights.
0:52.1	While this is good news, the not-great news is that we still need a filibuster-proof
0:55.6	majority, a.k.a. 60 votes in order to pass the bill in the Senate, and make it federal
1:00.0	law.
1:01.0	And in even worse news, we have to talk about Marjorie Taylor Greene.
1:04.0	The past two days, she's made motions to adjourn in Congress, which basically means that
1:07.9	all Congress people have to be present to vote against her German.
1:11.3	It doesn't really have any meaning besides hassling people and holding up Congress's
1:14.7	work for about an hour each time.
1:16.6	In other words, it was a parliamentary tantrum.
