The Corps 4. The four headlines you need to know. The Senate has confirmed RFK Jr. as the Health and Human Services Secretary of the United States.

The vote was 52 to 48 and was mainly along party lines, but Republican Senator Mitch McConnell

joined with the Democrats in his vote.

This is now the third time he has voted against one of Trump's cabinet nominees.

If you bought anything recently, you know this already.

But in case you haven't, things are expensive. And

the numbers for January that just came out prove that. According to the Consumer Price Index,

inflation has gone up 3%. Now, here's the thing to remember. In this number, we're not including

the insane prices of eggs, which Carlin Reel will get into next.

Because core inflation, the 3% number I just mentioned, does not take food or energy into account.

So the fact that groceries and gas are more expensive now isn't even included in this 3% increase.

And even though this pop in inflation is higher than experts predicted it would be in Trump's first month,

it's also not earth shattering.

Technically speaking, good inflation is somewhere between 1.5 to 2.5%.

Economists predicted that the first month of the year would be higher than that at 2.9%. So is the economy tanking? No, not yet. But with the possibility of trade wars, mass layoffs at the federal and corporate level, along with labor shortages and tariffs, it doesn't look like it's going to miraculously get any better.

Eggs have officially reached a record high.
