T-G-I-F. From the KU-O-W Newsroom, this is Seattle now. I'm Paige Browning. We're headed into a holiday weekend to honor Veterans Day. Full of rain and hopefully giving you time to catch up on sleep and catch up with loved ones. Here's the roundup of today's top stories. It's Friday, November 8th. Starting with an unfolding crime investigation, police have arrested a suspect after five people were stabbed this afternoon,

near 12th and Jackson in Seattle's Little Saigon neighborhood. SPD Deputy Chief Eric Barden says

there have been a total of 10 stabbings since early Thursday morning.

It's certainly plausible that the suspect involved in today's stabbing is the same suspect involved with the previous five incidents, but the investigation is ongoing.

SPD says the majority of the attacks appear to be random. Harborview Medical Center says it is

treating four female victims from this afternoon's attacks, all in critical condition. As we

monitor that situation, we're also glued to the ballot returns

in Washington, where some races are more certain today, but a couple remain close. State Supreme

Court position two between Sal Mongia and Dave Larson has Mangia only in the lead by 0.5%. And it's even

closer for state Senate in the Whidbey Island area,

which could go to a recount where Republican Ron Mazzal is leading over Democrat Janet St. Clair.

Builders and contractors in Washington are celebrating passage of Initiative 2066. They call it a victory for energy choice.

Opponents have conceded, saying the measure will make it harder to achieve Washington's clean energy goals.

Amy Radle has more. Initiative 26 rolls back government efforts to transition away from natural gas in the coming decades.

Zachary Pullen with Washington Conservation Action opposed the initiative.
