It's Friday, September 5th. A warm welcome to rain in the forecast. Wildfire smoke continues to clog up air quality in the Puget Sound region, but a chance of showers this weekend could help.

Here's what Dana Felton with the National Weather Service says.

If we get a little precipitation, that'll knock the particulate out of the atmosphere as well.

So we should see a bit of an improving trend over the weekend as far as air quality goes.

And this weekend in general will start showing signs that we're finally heading into fall.

We have a little more detail on what that'll feel like from meteorologist Dustin Guy at the weather service.

We have an area of flow pressure offshore that's going to start to affect us over the weekend,

especially into the first part of the next week.

So by the time we get into the first part of next week.

So by the time we get into Saturday and especially Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, we'll be looking at temperatures cooling off quite a bit. We'll be struggling to get up to maybe 70 degrees or so

for much of the weekend into early next week. And we'll see periods of showers, especially by Sunday.
