The heat cranked up today in the Northwest and is not turning back down to normal seasonal

temps for a week. Forecasters issued a heat advisory at noon today and at last through Monday night

at 10. Nights will only dip to the mid-60s, which won't give much relief.

It's going to be some warm nights, and it's important to remember that those low temperatures only occur for a brief moment of time.

You know, you've got temperatures that are dropping down from the 90s overnight and it takes

a long time for those temperatures to actually cool down.

So it'll be warm well into the overnight hours.

During this time, the National Weather Service says the risk of heat-related illness goes up.

That's especially true for people without a cool home to escape the heat in. Hydrating and
