Someone once wisely said that sin will take you farther than you want to go.

It'll cost you more than you want to pay and it'll keep you longer than you want to stay.

In other words, sin is just not worth it.

If you don't believe me, then believe the words of David because he describes his sinful

condition poignantly.

And may we learn from him and not repeat that really, really horrible mistake, horrible sin

that he committed.

Welcome back, my friends, to a brand new episode and chapter in the Bible.

Psalm 38 today is our Psalm. And I want to just warn you that this is a, it's a kind of a depressing

Psalm. It won't be by the time we finish it, but because we're

covering it in two parts. Today is kind of the, the sad part of it. And sin does bring sadness.

It brings sorrow. And we find in the book of Psalms, some of the Psalms are just really raw as David, primarily David,

shares just his heart and what sin is doing in his life.

We call these Psalms the penitential Psalms, Psalms of repentance, where David just gets real and raw

with the Lord. We've already covered a couple of them. Psalm 6 was an example. Psalm 32 is an example.
