The Core 4, the four headlines you need to know.

Earlier this week, I told you about how our politicians were playing nice and they actually agreed on a bill and passed it. Well, didn't last too long. Yesterday, a bipartisan bill to expand the child tax credit

was voted on, and it was blocked by Senate Republicans. The $79 billion package overwhelmingly

passed in the House and was expected to pass in the Senate. The bill would have also restored tax breaks for

businesses. The vote was 48 to 44. All Republicans voted against it except for three of them. All

Democrats voted for it, except for the two independents, Bernie Sanders and Joe Manchin.

Joe Biden may have just pulled off the trade of the century.

In the largest prisoner swap since the Cold War,

it's being reported that a total of 16 American and German citizens

have been freed from Russian prisons and labor camps
