The Core 4. The four headlines you need to know. A drought is hitting the northeast and Massachusetts is getting hit the hardest with the entire state experiencing a flash drought. The term flash drought is being used because

none of the state was in a drought as of two weeks ago. Some parts of Massachusetts and Connecticut,

as well as the entire state of Rhode Island, are experiencing an extreme drought, which is a level

three out of four. Over the past 60 days, parts of New England,

New York, and New Jersey have fallen to two to six inches below their normal rainfall,

and no rain is in the forecast for the entire region this weekend. The drought is hitting

farming communities in the Northeast hard, and experts say the region is

unprepared to handle these challenges.

In yesterday's podcast, I had mentioned a hearing being held to figure out if the affidavit

for the search warrant at Mar-a-Lago would be released, and it looks like the judge is leaning

towards having at least a redacted version of that to the public.

So what does that all mean?

As I mentioned yesterday, the affidavit is a document that establishes probable cause in a criminal case.

It's then submitted to a judge in order to obtain a search warrant,

in this case the FBI's search of former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago

residents. Along with Trump allies, a group of media outlets, including the AP, CNN, NBC, and ABC,

have all asked the judge to at least release a redacted version of the affidavit, claiming, quote,
