In Tennessee, two state house Democrats were expelled yesterday and what critics condemned

as a bipartisan hit job.

The representatives were under fire for their role in last week's gun reform protests that

halted legislative business, votes to expel a third house Democrat failed by one vote.

He was the first non-bipartisan expulsion in Tennessee history.

Meanwhile, North Carolina state house Republican Trisha Katham announced Wednesday that she

was switching parties, saying she did not recognize the Democratic Party anymore.
