Trade Commission may have sent you some money. They've issued more than $5.6 million in

refunds to Ring customers as part of a settlement. Ring is an Amazon-owned company,

and they were charged with failing to protect private video footage from outside access.

Last year, the FTC accused Ring of allowing its employees and contractors to access customers' private video.

They also allegedly used the footage to train algorithms without customers' consent.

Oh, and they were also charged with failing to implement security protections, which enabled

hackers to then take control of customers' accounts, cameras, and

video. That obviously led to serious violations of users' privacy. In the settlement, Ring had to

delete the content that was unlawfully obtained and pay a huge fine. The FTC is distributing the
